I have purchased a newly built appartment (build in 2018) for my daughter and and am looking for advice on paint selection from Jotun. The furniture is generally in light/beige tones (see attached moodboard), kitchen is white and the floor is in a wam oiled oaktree. The living room is facing south and most of the time full of sunlight. I would like it to be in a light greige-color. So far I tried: - Skandinavisk Lys: too yellow - Kokos: better, but also slightly too yellow - Lys Antikk: too dark Now I am thinking that 'Silke' might be the right choice. What do you think and is there other alternatives I should also consider? For the bedroom (see attached picture), which is facing north and somewhat dark, I would like a slightly darker tone of the same color in the livingroom. Do you have some suggestions based on what you might suggest for the living room? For the childrens room, which is also facing north and somewhat dark, I was planning to go for a halfway-painted mix with the bottom half in Muted Coral and the top half in a light beige which I have not yet picked. Do you have some suggestions based on what you might suggest for the living room? Best regards Andreas
Hi,
I will be happy to help you, but if you have the opportunity to check and come back with what color code (ncs) your white details such as doors, windows, moldings and kitchen doors have, if not all these details are to be painted, that would be great? It affects which other colors will be nice and how you will experience the result. The easiest way to find out is to borrow color samples of the most common whites, S0500-N and S0502-Y, and see which of these comes closest to your white details. Then come back with this and a floorplan and I will help you further with a colorplan.
Hi Annika, All wood details are RAL 9010 (Reinweiss) from Beck & Jørgensen and i'm not planning to paint these. Hope this answers your question. Also please find attached the floorplan as well as most recent photos of a) the living room (taken in the evening, its normally a quite sunny room as its facing south), and b) the childrens room. For the bedroom, I have ordered this bed which will take up a large part of the room: https://www.bedrenaetter.se/bohol-boucle-210x210-beige.html Let me know if you need anything else and looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Best regards, Andreas
I mistakenly wrote that the appartment was for my daughter, but it is for both my daughter and myself (she's only 3 years old) :-) Best regards Andreas
Hi again,
Thank you. Do you also have the colourcode for the kitchen-cabinets? When looking at your photo I think they look a little more white.
Hi Annika That is the photos that are “cheating” as the kitchen cabinets have the same nuance as the wood details. Perhaps more visible in this photo (see to the right).
Hi
Tank you:) When chosing colours for an entire home it is best to start with kitchen/livingroom-area.
If you have a lot of beige, cream and warmer tones in your furniture and decorations you need to have about the samt colourtones on the walls, if they at to be in neutrals.
Please look at LADY 12123 Contemporary White, LADY 1875 Sans or LADY 12314 Grey Touch for the kitchen/livingroom.
Test the colours on large pieces of paper that you can move around and see how the colors turn out in different places in the room, in different light. Please come back with how you experienced the colours in your light, and we will continue with the other rooms.
For matt and beautiful walls, paint with LADY Pure Color, LADY Essence, New LADY Wonderwall or LADY Balance.

Hi Annika, Thanks and I will try them. Curious to hear why you did not suggest 0486 Silke or 1376 Perle which I thought from looking online could be good candidates. Do you think those are "bad options" for some reason or could they also be worth a try? Best regards Andreas
Hi again,
LADY 1376 Froströk and LADY 0486 Silke usually turns a little bit pink with warmer details and are often better if you have whiter details.
Hi Annika, I have now tried the colors below and these are my thoughts: *** Preferred choices, but not there yet: 0471 Lys Antikk: good but slightly too dark 0486 Silke: good but a bit too grey / lack of warmth.. *** Other options tried: 1832 Skandinavisk Lys: too yellow 1931 Kokos: better, but also slightly too yellow - 12123 Contemporary White: too dark 12314 Grey Touch: too dark 1376 Perle: slightly too dark and grey *** What I would like to achieve is something like the attached. The color on those walls is Kokos - but on my wall Kokos looks much more yellow.. given my preferred choices above and what I want to achieve - could 1001 Egghvit maybe be the solution? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
1622 Refleksjon is also a candidate - as it also allows for Jotun Minerals Kalkmaling which I’m thinking about
Hi Annika, i'm now tilting to trying 1622 Refleksjon and 1928 Sommersne. Likely in Jotun Minerals.. do you think those could meet what i'm looking for?
Hi,
LADY 1622 Reflektion and LADY 1928 Sommarsnö are better with whiter whites. With warmer white details they tend to seem al little bit colder than they actually are and your details will apear more yellowish.
The same goes for LADY 0471 Lys Antik and LADY 0486 Silke.
If you are looking for something lighter have a look at LADY 1442 Claro or white tones like LADY 1453 Bomull or LADY 1001 Eggvit.
Test the colours before using.
