Lister/dörrar/fönster : all white tones (we want to change that too
I would like to find the right green tone for our living room, the idea is to make it have this earthy jungle theme. I want it to have the same affect as being in nature, grounded, calm and also partly bold in a way. I love greesn myself and terricotta. We want to paint the walls, moldings, window edges, and ceiling. so a gradual shift of green tones could look very nice so it blends. The sofa is grey, and armchairs are an tan brown or terricotta. we have blue, gren and gray mat, and wood furniture. We want to bring out the colours of the arm chair and bring in more wood and earth tones. Eventually we will paint the kitchen and hall way (maybe earthy tones...)

Hi,
I'd be happy to help you, but if you have the opportunity to check what color code (ncs or Jotun) you have on your roofs, windows, doors, moldings and kitchen doors, if not all of these details are to be painted in your house, that would be great. It affects which colors will look good and how you will experience the end result. The easiest way to find out is to borrow color samples of the most common whites, S0500-N, 0502-S (without the S) and S0502-Y, and see which of these comes closest to your white details. Then come back with this and a floor plan and color code in adjacent rooms, and I'll be happy to help you further with a color plan.

Hello Annika Thank you for replying back. There are two options that we can take. We can either paint the walls of the living room and just the walls in a green. We have been looking at the colour avocado and Cyprus. I really would like Green in the living room. I tried a darker green but I’m worried it would make the room look quite small. In the photos the colour of the walls look almost grey white but in fact they are so white it hurts my eyes. I’m sorry I don’t have a colour code because we moved into the house and it was already painted but I could happily say that it’s a classic white and quite bright. So if we decide to just paint the walls, the roof will be white and everything else The other option is to paint all the walls and the doors, doorway and potentially around the windows. In order to get you to help a little with the decision have I understood correctly that you want a floor plan so you can see the connecting rooms? Would you like more photos of the connecting rooms so it can tell a story? I have uploaded the colours We have tried so far from Jotun, two different shades of green. (One in Teal) I don’t want to go too light with green like secret garden but I’m wondering if it will look better to give the room more space. I’m worried if I choose a dark green the room will look smaller than it is since we need to buy more lamps to put on the opposite side of the big windows where the plants are. Hi,
Have a look at LADY 0470 Avocado Green, LADY 7386 Pistachio and LADY 7718 Secret Green if you do not want it to be too dark. Also, if you have connecting rooms in white, the contrast will be too much if the walls ar too dark in the livingroom.
If you want a less colourful green pleas also look at LADY 7685 Subtle Green, LADY 8302 Lagerträd, LADY 8478 Pale Green or LADY 8281 Pale Linden.
About the Whites. The best thing is if you paint everything that is supposed to be white - walls, ceiling, windows, doors and joinery, in the same white colour. Then it looks white. If you mix different white colours, they tend to reinforce each other's differences. For example, warmer white details often appear a little more yellow than they actually are if you see them together with crisp white details, which can then have a blue cast. So, if you have most of your woodwork in crisp white I would paint doors, windows etc i the same white.
Please test the colours before using.

Thank you so much for all of your inputs and I appreciate that you’re writing in English too. I hope it’s okay to ask a few more questions just to build the layout of the living room and then we take a new form for the joining rooms when we are ready to paint them. Our house is too white!!!! We bought it this way and it’s just taken a little bit longer than I thought to repaint and fix everything. But we will begin now. I love the subtle green, would you say that is close to the Cypress Green? I am on my way to buy the colour to test it today. Re: Avocado I tried the avocado, but I felt like it was too light in the living room unless we create dark tones around the windows, door, joining door frames. That was a thought. If so what colour would us suggest that would go with an avacado that has darker tones and warmth. We also have a vintage old couch that is a tan dark colours so I want it to fit in with the green wall hence why I though avocado was to light. Thank you for the feedback about all the whites. The idea is to actually paint the walls, and the pick another colour/s for the windows, doors and joinery. If we go with mindful green or cypress (keep the ceiling white) what is your suggestion for windows, doors, joinery. We would love to get started this Saturday so I really wanna make this happen. Any tips with the door frames and doors and what to think about as we come into the joining rooms? Should the colour of the door match the joining room walls? I know they’re white now but they won’t be for too long. I’m sorry about all of the questions. I really would like to potentially explain what colours I’m thinking for the joining rooms also but maybe we should take that at another time.. From Green to blues is my hope as we move into the kitchen

All colours is experienced differently depending on light and also what other colours you see at the same time. So, the best way to determine the exakt colour you want to have, is to test it on a large surface like a large paper, at least 1 m2. Then you move it around in the room so you can se how different light change the colour.
For the woodwork, are you planning to paint all your windows as well? If not, which white colourcode does your windows have? It's important for the colourchoices for the woodwork.
Also, if you have a floorplan it wood be great:)
